For example, there are now more record-breaking high temperatures than ever before, and we’re seeing longer and deeper droughts and wildfires as well as more intense storms and hurricanes.

The effects of deforestation are very evident. It is not just the loss of trees, but also the loss of biodiversity, soil erosion, and climate change. Forests are considered an important part of the environment because they provide vital services for us. They regulate our climate by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing oxygen which is necessary to live.

Creating a Social Forest will not only help regenerate forests but also help other cities in their efforts to plant more trees or care for them better. The Social Forest will allow other people to take part in this environmental effort by giving them a sense of responsibility and ownership over what they are planting or preserving through their participation in this project.

Importance of Social Forests for People and Society

Forests are not just places to go camping, they are essential for our society. They help alleviate poverty and hunger. Forests provide livelihoods for many people, as well as provide major economic benefits to the communities around them. They have the potential to mitigate climate change, restore ecosystem goods and services, and promote human well-being.
