Ancient History of Vietnam

The history of Vietnam goes back to the stone age. It has been populated by many groups, including the Sa Huynh people, who left behind dozens of urns with human remains. The Kingdom of Funan was one of the first civilizations to develop in the area now known as Vietnam.

It is believed that Funan was founded in 100 BCE by a group of Chinese traders. The Kingdom reached its height between 200 CE and 550 CE.
