Satanic Force King Hiranyakashyap was an opponent of Lord Vishnu. The son of Hiranyakashyap, Prahlada was an devotee of Lord Vishnu. Hiranyakashipu didn't authorize his boy's devotion leniency to Lord Vishnu. He planned to eliminate Prahlada taking the help of his sister Holika. Demoness Holika has a shawl(as a gift) talented by Lord Brahma. This shawl protected her from fire. Holika somehow drew Prahlada to sit with her in a big bonfire. As and when the fire lit, immediately Prahlada prayed to Lord Vishnu for helping him to keep him safe. Lord Vishnu quickly ordered a gust of wind to throw away the shawl off of demoness Holika and ordered to put it on to Prahlad, conserving him from the high and painful flames of the bonfire and burning Holika to her death.

An important aspect of the ceremony is the performance of rituals by various castes, such as Brahmins, Ksatriyas, Vaisias, Sudras, Vardahs, Kumbh Melayu, and other Hindu castes. In addition, various religious groups participate in the ceremony including Buddhists, Muslims, Christians and Parsis. Finally, traders also participate in the ceremony. All these castes participate as a symbol of their allegiance and commitment to the Indian state and people.
