Introduction:

A person who teaches especially in a school is know as teacher.It is the general sense which comes first in our mind. But the broad meaning of teacher is that a well known professional having very good command on any subject and have ability to express his knowledge in a very efficient way is called a teacher.He may be home teacher, personal tutor, professors of an engineering college or a technical teacher.

In other way a teacher is a person who provides education for pupils (children) and students (adults). Teacher also sometime called educator.

Principally the role of teacher is to teach and share and spread his knowledge. So he is very important factor of the society. It is because his teacihing at childhood state decides the fothcoming activity of child at his adult time. I think in todays context when professional teaching have attained supermacy on moral learning , the role of teacher is to mould the society towards the ethical human value learning. So it is the teacher whose teaching decides whether the child will become thief or an engineer or doctor. It is just the special touch which is provied at beging by teacher scores largely at final stage of a learner.

In many countries, a person who wishes to become a teacher must first obtain specified professional qualifications or credentials from a university or college. hese professional qualifications may include the study of the science of teaching. Teachers may use a lesson plan to facilitate student learning, providing a course of study which is called the curriculum.

Teacher Degree requirements:

In Canada, a BEd degree is required for a teaching certificate.In India also a BEd degree is required for a teaching certificate. Except this the teacher must be a bachelor and master degree holder in any subject. The BEd degree course in India is of two years. There are many examination certification for teacher of various level. BTC is a degree for primary teacher in Utter Pradesh. SLET (State Level Eligibility Test) is for becoming a lecturer for state level vacancy. There is also known test like NET (National Level Test) for becoming lecturer at national level in India.  

Status of the teacher :

In India teachers were very prstigious icone of the society. Generally all people used to respect the teacher from the bottom of his heart. It is because the teacher were taking full responsibility of the student without any financial aggrement. But in todays time the teacher have no so much respect because todays teacher take a teaching contract and it is weighed on the monetory basis. Therefore the respect has got penetrated inside of the money thereby leaving no place for extra respect for the teacher.
